I can confirm this issue, also nvidia twinview. The same issue arises when first using KDE 4.1 on single screen and afterwards with twinview on two screens. The second screen does not get a wallpaper but gets a black background. I can confirm this bug as well. It is actually really annoying, since when I change resolutions the kde panel (taskbar, systray etc) stays (under the conditions described by the other reporters) where it was before. That is in the middle of the screen when I switch to my larger external screen. Since I do this at least twice a day, this is really annoying.
