I'm using vmware workstation 6.0.0 build-45731.
It works fine under KDE 3.5.9 but won't launch under recently compiled KDE4.
Seems to me that it hangs when trying to insert the icon on the taskbar tray.

Try to start it from the shell, does it return some errors message on the console?

Works fine for me with KDE 4.1 beta2 and VMware Workstation 6.0.3 build-80004. Maybe you have a new kernel and need to re-run the configure-script for VMware Workstation?

Hello,

It wasn't the kernel update this time :)
I just checked again, on the sources I compiled last weekend, and I it works. 
Well, hope it'll not come back again.
