Version:           0.50.80 (using 4.00.82 (KDE 4.0.82 >= 20080610), Gentoo)
Compiler:          x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS:                Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.25-gentoo-r4

although I have no status on my yahoo account people see me with variuos statuses. These are taken as my own although they belong to other contacts in my list. And everybody sees me with their status.

I happened to me as well.Although I set no status I appear with one of my account's status. I tried to logg in and off but with no result.Also on busy and online mode as well

This happens to me as well, friends on yahoo see me with various statuses taken from other contacts in my list.
I'd say this is a pretty serious bug.

Using Kopete 0.50.80 on KDE 4.00.82 in OpenSuse 10.3

BTW, this status disappears if I click Global Status Message -> Clear.
But if I relogin, I show up again with somebody else's status.

 OK , I can confirm this one , happened to me once and it's quite embarasing but this is indeed what happens. 
 Don't know why it happens and what are the steps to reproduce but I'm sure it's a bug . Using kdenetwork 20080705+svn828272 in Ubuntu 8.04.1

SVN commit 829723 by rjarosz:

Set status for correct contact.
Should fix bug 164124: kopete shows contacts statuses as my own.

Please test it as I don't have yahoo account.

Looks ok now thanks! Also I can see other people's statueses to. Great!
