After opening a random pdf and choosing 'Save as...' from the menu I end up with a pdf with the same amount of pages, but they are all empty.

btw, what's the difference between "Save As..." and "Save Copy As..."

"Save Copy As" copies as-is the document from the original location (using the cached downloaded one, if possible).
"Save As" saves a new document with the applied changes to the document. In case of PDFs, it is only changes to the values of form fields.
