Maybe a dup of bug 162815 SVN commit 828249 by tnyblom: CCBUG: 162815 CCBUG: 163712 Move the deletion of the account manager to after the foldermanagers since atleast the IMAP one needs a living account to be able to die grasefully. Yep, I can confirm it. It looks like the crash is gone in: KDE 4.1.3 "release 51.1" I just installed the unsupported updates of Kubuntu 8.10. As of today, it brings KMail to v1.10.3 and the bug appears to be fixed. At the very least, the recipe I provided in duplicate bug 174376 no longer triggers the crash.
