Bug 163706

The Show Desktop plasmoid has been worked on just after Beta 1 was out and it's now renamed Show Dashboard (Show Desktop is former Minimize All).
The size in panel for such icon based plasmoids was also reworked.

If you would join a screenshot maybe of the issue it would help to see if we solved it. I am not sure I understand it correctly.

Show Desktop plasmoid causing panel scaling issues

Here you go. I made two screenshots for comparison. The panel might not be the
exact same height, since adding or removing the Show Desktop plasmoid with a
height at which the scaling issue would occur kept crashing Plasma altogether.
But this should illustrate the problem.

How it is now

I think it is fixed now that we reviewed those icons-based plasmoids.
Have a look at the attached screenshot, the Plasma icon one is the same than
your ShowDesktop (as we renamed it to ShowDashboard) and the blue desktop icon
is the current ShowDesktop (was MinimizeAll for you)

Perhaps we have to make a test case with the old code of show dashboard to
see if this problem still happen to eventually detect a problem in plasma
core hitself ?!

cyrus_xiii yahoo com, any news on that? did you update kdeplasmoids to see if it is fixed for you the way I said?
Thanks in  advance for pursuing this bug report and help us making a great beta2!

That could be tricky, since so far, I only run pre-compiled test versions. Judging from what you wrote earlier, the bug appears to be fixed already. I hope it's ok to wait until Kubuntu drops its Beta 2 packages. Or is this something that would be frozen by then?

I've run a few tests with those icon based widgets in beta 2 now and indeed, the issue seems be fixed already. Everything scales nicely now. :)

Keep it up guys, you got a worthy KDE 3.5 successor in the works here!
