Sorry, but I don't understand how this is a Kopete bug. From your description, it sounds like a bug in the Jabber IRC gateway that you're using. Can you provide some more evidence that this is a Kopete problem? Well, maybe ? As a simple user in this domain, I have no idea where in the chain can be the problem. So, I suspected only what I can see: kopete. Easiest way to tell would be to see if other jabber clients cause this traffic to happen as well I just tried with psi and it does not send version requests. It seems that it can confirm the problem.
