"middle-click on a tab to close it" and "show close button" settings need konqueror to be restarted. Is this a wanted behaviour or a bug?

Whether the programmer intended it or not, it is definitely not what the user would expect. I agree that this is a bug.

Using master/branch 4.6 compiled from sources a change of the middle click option is applied immediately.

But for "close button" settings konqueror needs to be restarted.

Checked "middle-click on a tab to close it" again with 4.7, this option is applied immediately.
This part of the bug seems to fixed since reported 2008.

And the "show close button" issue is a duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121792
