Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: 4.1.2
OS: Linux

i use kde4 in linux-vserver virtualization: http://linux-vserver.org

if i use the kde4 http kioslave to open a website, it seems to me like a timeout. its not a dns issue, i tried firefox and dillo and they work normally. ftp connections with konqueror work also.

i also tried kioclient exec http://heise.de, then the window with the statusbar appears but nothing further happens. if i try kioclient with ftp, it works.
i already tried to find something uncommon with tcpdump, but i havent found anything uncommon. the proxy is set to none, but if i set a http proxy this changes nothing.

i would really like to help further with this bug, talk to me on irc if you want, im katastrophe in #kde-bugs. thanks!

ok i tested further...
it does not happen only in linux-vserver, but on another system without virtualisation i got the same. it happens on these systems so far:

4.0.5 in linux-vserver (gentoo packages)
trunk in linux-vserver (not the same system as the 4.0.5 one)
trunk without virtualisation
the trunk ones are installed with the svn packages of the gentoo overlay

hm i tested further...

it seems the first time quite always i get a timeout, when i try the same url the second time it works but only very slow. (feels like 5kb/s or something). but strangely a download works with normal speed. only different elements especially many pictures do load very slow.

oh no... together with the proxy settings issue (bug 155707) this one really drove me crazy!
