Version:           4.0.4 (using KDE 4.0.4)
Installed from:    Fedora RPMs

How to reproduce:
1. Open some KDE apps - dolphin, Kate & KWrite
2. Activate one application, Kate for example.
3. Select some text in the text editor
4. Switch to another window (with Alt+Tab or clicking on the panel)
5. Switch back to the original window (with Alt+Tab or clicking on the panel)
6. The selected text gets deleted!

The problem can be seen in the address bar in dolphin, editors Kate & KWrite, the text box in 'Systems settings' etc.; but *not* in Konsole, Opera address bar, Thunderbird search bar etc.

If I'm right, the problem happened *after* I updated to KDE 4.0.4.

The issue doesn't seem to be there with KDeDaily (KDE 4.1, r810996)

Yup. I too have found that the problem doesn't exist with a recent KdeDaily build. Thanks.
