When i use 3 plasmoids on kde 4.1beta
(minimize all,usb notifier and folder view)
cpu goes on 100%(60% plasma,40% X)
Comment 1 Anne-Marie Mahfouf 2008-05-28 08:11:16 UTC
is it when the plasmoids are in panel? or on the desktop?
if the latest: try one by one, report the CPU numbers without any applets then with each one alone then with 2 then with 3
You can report all that in a text file and attach it to the bug report, thanks in advance!

i suspect it't the old 100% bug of square applets (minimize all)
the code really has to be made more pretty but should be fixed

Just by accident I found this bug. I couldn't figure out why Plasma is taking all my CPU. You are right, it's indeed the square minimize all applet. After removing it my CPU load went down immediately. This does still happen with KDE 4.1 beta1. I could not find a bug on this issue but because you say "old 100% bug", there wouldn't be much use in filing one, would it?
Comment 4 Marco Martin 2008-06-09 22:47:09 UTC
ok, it was that one.
it was a problem i fixed a couple of days after beta1 tagging, so it still has it
