KDE 4 has switched from DCOP to D-Bus[1] as IPC system. You may use the "qdbus" executable provided by Qt 4 as a rough equivalent to the KDE 3 "dcop" command, or the collection of utilities provided by the D-Bus software suite itself. The application list from your "dcop" output are KDE 3 applications/processes. 1 = http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/dbus I see, thanks. I don't quite see the equivalent of 'reparseConfiguration', but let's hope this surfaces with KDE 4.1 If you have a compelling use case for exporting such a method, I'd recommend filing a separate wishlist ticket for it in the tracker here, so the concern doesn't get lost. Ok. I don't know whether it's compelling, but I certainly liked it. |
