Description Gabriel Hurley 2008-05-18 23:12:33 UTC
Version:           1.9.95.3 (using KDE 4.0.3)
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages
OS:                Linux

Upon filling a page with text, justifying it (Align-Block), selecting it and then going
Format --> Font --> Layout
and enabling Automatic Hyphenation, nothing changes. No words are ever hyphenated.

Missing feature, not a bug ;)
Comment 3 Gabriel Hurley 2008-05-19 02:29:08 UTC
So the hyphenation checkbox is the result of wishful thinking?
Comment 4 Thomas Zander 2008-05-19 12:08:21 UTC
Its the result of reusing the Gui from 1.x while in reality the code affected has been rewritten so the GUI is out of sync with the capabilities.

But, yeah, the reason its still there is the result of wishful thinking. :}
Comment 5 David Heijkamp 2010-02-06 14:51:56 UTC
Is there any progress on the hyphenation front?

Thank you for your bug report or feature suggestion.

The "KOffice" application suite is no longer maintained, and all tickets are now closed.

We recommend to switch to the "Calligra" application suite, which has replacements for all unmaintained KOffice applications:

- KWord was replaced with Calligra Words
- KPlato was replaced with Calligra Plan

For more information, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calligra_Suite
