Compiler:          Target: i686-pc-linux-gnu
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-gentoo-r7

if "prefer HTML at plain text" is NOT selected. I see only the header, but no bidy.

The mail you attached is invalid.
Even though the mail claims be be multipart/alternative, the plain text part does not contain any data, although it should. Complain to the sender of the mail.
