Version:           KDE4.0.4 Kate 3.0.3 (using KDE 4.0.3)
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

Repeatable:

2-3 lines of comments in Kate, I tried to tab 3 times but as I did part of line 2 tried to go to a new line, as it tries to take a newline Kate closes with no crash information.

If 3 tabs don't work, 6 probably will (to cause another word to go to a newline)


I opened kate from terminal and as it closed I got this line:

this is using KDE4.0.3 (although I d'loaded 4.0.4 from repos this morning), Kate 3.0.3, and Kubuntu 8.10 64bit
