in kicker I used the option "show only tasks from current desktop".
After migration to KDE 4.0.3 (Fedora 9) this setting isn't remembered in plasma.

the cost/benefit just isn't worth it. we discussed this before 4.0.x actually =)

the transition period is a one time, one way process and the amount of work it would take to rationally migrate kicker settings is very large.

plasma and kicker are simply two different applications.
