I don't understand...
Doesn't the filter feature *filter* the basket content when you click on it? That's how it operates for me.
1. I enter search term in Filter bar
2. I click the Search button at the far right of the Filter bar
3. BasKet searches all the baskets and shows me which are the ones that contain my search term by putting a blue cube next to the title of the basket containing the number of search terms found in that basket
4. When I click on the title of any of the baskets where the search term was found all I see is filtered content of that basket.
Doesn't the Filter feature function like that for you? If not, then you should probably file it as a separate bug.
As to your suggestion for ideal global search feature, that's another thing. (I'm quite happy with the way search is handled now, but that's just me.)
The filter works for locating notes that have the selected term, but not the term itself in the note. For instance, I have a note that has 700 words, and I need to find an instance of a particular note. The filter does not help. I still need to read 700 words to find the word. In other words, the filter finds baskets containing the search term. A search feature would bring the cursor to the location of the search term, as is the case in other KDE applications such as Kate. Thank you for the bug report. As this report hasn't seen any changes in 5 years or more, we ask if you can please confirm that the issue still persists. If this bug is no longer persisting or relevant please change the status to resolved. |
