Description Carlo 2008-04-27 22:11:35 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: Linux

I'm using opensuse 10.3 with KDE 4.00.71 snapshot (alpha 1) "release 4.2" from the unstable repositories.

I simply click on Kickoff and load dolphin. Then I click Settings->Configure Dolphin and click abort. After this i close dolphin (with the x) and plasma crasjes with this backtrace:

Application: Spazio di lavoro di Plasma (plasma), signal SIGSEGV

If i reproduce this for another time plasma doesn't restart automatically (all goes to a grey wallpaper, no icons panel, nothing) and i must close kde from a console.

Using the same packages (openSuSE unstable), this bug happens every time I close a KDE4 application. Firefox for instance doesn't cause a crash. Other than that, what you describe is the exact behaviour over here, too.

However, I suppose this bug occurs due to the huge changes being done to Plasma so I didn't report it by myself.

Is this still reproducable for anyone and if so, could you please attach a useul backtrace (http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports)? Thanks in advance.
Comment 3 Carlo 2008-06-03 21:14:18 UTC
No, I'can't reproduce it anymore with KDE 4.0.80 (Opensuse Unstable).
