Version:           3.0 (using 4.0.3 (KDE 4.0.3), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.24-16-generic

Since failing to set up an external monitor at my docking station (I could neither set monitor resolution nor setup something else than clone-mode) my Notebook keeps switching to a lower than its native resolution a few seconds after logging in. The taskbar vanishes and I can only start programs from the desktop via right-click and execute.
Reboot does not solve this.

Do you still get this with a recent KDE 4?

Are you definitely running krandrtray?
