I get the following messages for both Yahoo and MSN
There was an error while connecting to the MSN server.
Error message:
connection actively refused

There was an error connecting satanic_kitty_ninja to the Yahoo server.
Error Message:
10- Connection  Actively Refused

How do I fix this?

What about updating to a more recent (like KDE 3.5.8 or KDE 3.5.9), first?

Looks like a blocking firewall
