Unfortunately, this backtrace is still not really useful. Are you sure you installed the kdenetwork-dbg package and restarted Kopete afterwards?

yes - that's what I get - I have all dbg packages installed...

one thing - for a second the backtrace seems to be longer but suddenly it "folds" itseflt to this shorter form, strange...

I think the problem lays in gadu library - when I quit kopete - I get errors from that protocol lib aswell...
I will try to disable it and reenable in kopete - maybe that will help

Cannot confirm that deleting users results in crashes here with kopete svn trunk r836553, not even with gadu-gadu contacts. Also, looks like this is related to http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147434

I can confirm this bug with Kopete 0.50.80 from Kubuntu packages, but only with enabled statistics plugin.
