Mouse movements to reproduce the bug
Thanks Peter. And try to play with selecting/deselecting files, the information
panel is not refreshed each time. Sometimes it doesn't refresh but I've not
find a precise way to reproduce.
Try to:
1) select a file (try to select a file on the last row and keep some free space
at bottom, is more easy to do)
2) move your mouse down, out from the file, over the "white" space and click.
The information panel show the current directory infos (the file is
deselected, right).
3) move up over the file selected at the point 1, wait some seconds and the
information panel is refreshed, and it is right too.
4) move down the mouse, out from the file, and click to the white space: at
this point I'm expecting a behavior like the point 2. Instead the panel is not
refreshed :-(
A small note to the image: http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=24169 The point number 1 is a click for select (on the small green "+") or you can even select the file with the rubberband. SVN commit 793471 by ppenz: Fixed issue that an old meta data is shown when one item is selected and another item has been hovered (related to #160305, but further tests are required). CCBUG: 160305 M +2 -1 infosidebarpage.cpp WebSVN link: http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=793471 I've just committed a fix which improves the situation, but I did not have the time to check whether it really fixes this issue completely (I have to go to the office now :-)). I'll check again at the weekend whether something is open... OK, I've verified again whether my fix solves the issues :-) It solves your original reported issue. Regarding comment #2: this is a different issue and more a usability thing. I agree to your wished behavior, but it is not as trivial to fix as it requires an additional signal between the dolphin view + the panel. My suggestion is that (although resolved) we leave this issue open for comment #2. Is this OK for you? Ok Peter. Let this report open for the http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160305#c2 . Thanks for fixing the #1 :-) Regarding comment #2, it seems that the first time one goes over the file, he is selecting it, and the second time, he is merely hovering over it, but not selecting it. Dolphin seems to revert to the parent folder's info when a selected file is deselected, but not when the mouse is moved away from a file that it is hovering over. Hi, Please confirm that this issue is still present in that latest stable KDE version. Thanx, Mark In Dolphin 4.6.3 I can reproduce exactly with the instructions in Comment #2, which as Peter mentions in Comment #6 is the reason that this bug is still open. Behaviour described in Comment #2 still present in KDE SC 4.9RC1. Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719 The issue in comment 2 has been reported again -> marking as duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 304567 *** |
