Version: Unbekannt (using 3.5.9 "release 53.2" , openSUSE )
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.54-0.2.3-default

As
* most kmenu entries do not show up in the paths returned by kde-config --path apps and even worse
* adding new entries to these directories followed by a run of kbuildsycoca often does not take any effect
there should be an easy straight forward possibility of adding/removing/listing .desktop and .directory entries by a command line utility.
This will be very important for the acceptance of KDE as a whole since most applications(games, 2nd party sw, etc.) do not manage to correctly install kmenu entries. It should be possible to place links as well (instead of copying a .desktop to different locations).
