Description Rastislav Krupanský 2008-03-26 18:03:59 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.2)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

I removed inactive or unused icons from desktop. But what a surprise, when i changed my wallpaper. Removed icons weren't deleted, but they appeared again. So, then i removed them again. But after next change of wallpaper, they appeared again.
This issue still repeats after every changing wallpaper.

This icons are imported from KDE 3.5. If you remove ./kde and ./kde4, they won't apear again, but after this, you shouldn't open KDE 3.5 again. If you do it, they will apear again.

I don´t have installed KDE 3.5.x, only KDE 4.0.2

I can confirm in KDE 4.0.3 that changing wallpaper does indeed cause removed icons to come back. I do understand that removing the icon applet won't delete the actual file, but changing the wallpaper shouldn't do this.
