I strongly disagree here, I don't want to have a single kate instance with many files that do not belong together.

... that is totally different than the standard *KDE* behaviour (guess what, yet another kubuntu patch).
... so if you want to file a report for this, file it with kubuntu :-) To correct, make the command for kate 'kate --use', which will cause kate to open new files in the first exsisting instance. |
