It would be nice to have the ability to add application launchers on the panels (like the one on a dock or something) ... This could come in handy with a panel that doesn't resize on the full length of the screen.

maybe you could have told me how is that possible? I can't really see anything regarding this.

drag and drop from kickoff entries to the panel for instance (both kickoff and classic menu)
