Version:           0.12.7 (using KDE 3.5.9)
Installed from:    Fedora RPMs

When running Kopete from within GNOME, the URLs are not automatically handled by the default / preferred application in this case the Firefox browser, set for that environment. This behavior is observed only in Kopete.

Can you still reproduce using more recente gnome/kopete version?
