Today I checked a 'do not ask again' checkbox that i shouldn't have, because after doing that I can't start kmail, korganizer, kontact, konversation and probably many other apps that i didn't try yet.

The question was about trying to relaunch "the arts dispatcher" or stlt.

I can't figure out how to get the question back, or what else to do.

I can start and run kde as another user without problems, but I can't live without my application and configuration data, collected over many years.

I can't ask on irc, since no irc application will start, so please forgive me for using this forum for asking, and try to help.

And of course a fix would be nice, this could be seen as a MAJOR flaw!!

Did you figure this out? arts handles your sound, it shouldn't have anything to do with the rest.

I have not been able to find the reason for this, except it was something in my session configuration. Deleting that made KDE start again.
