if i try to copy/paste an event from next week to today, it will be inserted into another field (not the one that is selected). reoccurring events show even stranger behavior.

I can't reproduce this on trunk r865573.

On moving an event using drag&drop it gets inserted at the exact same time as it was before. On copying using copy/paste it gets inserted at the time I right-clicked on (to select paste). It's both how I expect it to behave.

Yes, this is fixed in trunk and branch 4.2 at least.

For the second issue, you could file a separate bug report and detail the strange behaviour if it still happens to you.
