When the digital clock is in a less-than-normal sized panel the lower part of it gets shown at the top of the screen, as shown in http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/430/plasmapanelclockweirdnehy8.png

It still happens if I remove the date from the clock or disabling desktop effects.

This is similar to this bug:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158762

I can also confirm this. To reproduce, set the panel to "tiny" or customly make it smaller than tiny.

I can confirm this bug. Its basically that the panels digital clock applet doesnt resize when you resize the panel. The bottom of the applet will then show up at the top of the screen. I would think that other applets could have the same problem. Heres some screenshots.

Right click on top with normal panel size:

Right click top right on Small panel size:

Left click top right on small panel size:

Right click on top with tiny panel size:

With the tiny panel size you can notice the problem easily.

Im using the latest KDE 4 Kubuntu 8.04 64 bit distro

not in trunk/ it doesn't. we clip to the shape of the panel containment now.

the clock applet still needs to lay itself out better, however, which is why i'm not closing this report by reassigning it to the clock widget.
