Follow these steps to reproduce the bug :

1. create an event for a date of your choice
2. save the event -> it appears into your planning
3. reopen the event
4. change event's date back in time
5. save the event -> it's gone !

After reopening the session and restarting KOrganiser, the dissapearing event reappeared along with the one I recreteated. 

So, I think the problem is a refresh problem and not a data back-end problem.

Also can't reproduce with 4.2.

Valentin, can you retest in >=KDE-4.2

I tested it and cannot reproduce anymore unde KDE 4.2.0
