Searching for 'gimp' does not show gimp, searching for 'image' does though.

Gimp appears in the graphics menu and the share/apps/kappfinder/apps/Graphics/gimp.desktop file is there and seems OK.

Work fine here too with Kubuntu. So, whatever the reason is, it's either a local or a distro fault (I just checked the only related file, kdebase/apps/kappfinder/apps/Graphics/gimp.desktop, we deliver and it's defined correct there) and therefore marked as worksforme.
