The scanner should be detected by sane. You've to install the sane packages AND be sure that your user has the right access permission. Exactly, how did you try to make the scanner work from KDE? What KDE software did you use? I have tried putting all the sane packages on that I can find on my disk, I now get a message that appears to tell me I don't have enough room to install these packages, I don't understand this....since the Mandriva DVD is only 8 gigs or so and that is for both the 32 and 64 bit versions but I have installed this on a 160 gigabyte drive...there should be oodles of room! type df --si on the shell... how many Mb/Gb are available on the root (/) partition? I'm closing this. Reasons: 1) not a kde bug 2) no feedback |
