 Let's say you typed: 
 thniking 
 as soon as the word is red flagged it would be useful to show (for example) tooltip with suggested corrections. Furthermore after user typed a lot of text, when she/he move the mouse cursor over the mispelled word, the tooltip would be shown too.

Fixed in KDE4. RMB on a mispelled word will show a menu with suggestions. (the tooltip suggestion is more annoying than useful).
