Description Johannes Tögel 2008-01-26 21:54:03 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

In KDE 4, i often have to use KDE 3 applications (adept for example), but they don't integrate into KDE 4 - A simple theme engine would be very good, just like the gtk-qt engine in KDE 3. That leads me to another point - a replacement for the gtk-qt engine of KDE 3 is also missing, which makes applications like Firefox look very ugly.

It would be very good if there were such engines in KDE 4, because then it would offer a much more consistent look, and you wouldn't have to fire up the Systemsettings/kcontrol of KDE 3 to change the KDE 3 style.

Hey, WTF? My Bug report (actually, it's a wish) is mainly about KDE3 apps in KDE 4, so it's hardly a duplicate of 156045. But if you think it's a duplicate, i'll refile it with only KDE3-KDE4-Stuff.

It's technically almost impossible to build a Qt3 <-> Qt4 style (styles are Qt plugins), as using both libraries together in the same library/executable would result in a clash of the stuff from both libraries. The clash would be even bigger if a style uses the KDE (3/4) libraries.
