so, in order to reproduce this, I just need to chat with somebody on ICQ and attempt to send the text "narod.ru" in the message, correct? yes. correct. This is blocked by ICQ/AIM servers (tried with ICQ 6), so we can't do anything about it. You should report it to ICQ/AIM. Hm...I try to send message "narod.ru" with other IM. Results: Kopete 0.50.0 -> SIM 0.9.4.2 failed SIM 0.9.4.2 -> Kopete 0.50.0 success SIM 0.9.4.2 -> Miranda 0.7.0.2 success QIP 8010 -> QIP 8010 success SIM 0.9.4.2 -> QIP 8010 success Kopete 0.50.0 -> Miranda 0.7.0.2 failed Miranda 0.7.0.2 -> Kopete 0.50.0 failed QIP 8010 -> SIM 0.9.4.2 success Why some client working good, and others can not receive/send such message? licq <-> kopete failed licq <-> QIP failed licq <-> SIM success licq <-> Miranda failed This is probably because some messages are sent using direct connection to the receiving peer (not through the server). This is because ICQ/AIM has two types of messages: - Channel 1 for plain messages that aren't used anymore in new clients and for clients that doesn't support channel 2 messages - Channel 2 for rtf messages and other stuff Channel 1 messages can contain "narod.ru", that's why it works for some clients that still use the old channel 1 messages and also as Oleg said client can use direct messaging too. So as I said we can't do anything about it because we won't change to old channel 1 messages. Thank you, Roman. Now all is clear. |
