Version: (using KDE 4.0.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

OS: Linux

Hello people, you are doing a great work with KDE 4. Keep it up.

An attachment is on its way. Here are the steps to reproduce this bug:

1. In Kate, go to Settings->Configure Kate
2. In Application->Plugins, check the Kate Symbol Viewer
3. Click Ok, then close Kate

Application crashes.

I compiled kde-4 with full debugging support.

I can confirm this. I use the KDE 4.0.0 packages from openSUSE(10.3).

It seems to be partiallyfixed. I cannot reproduce on revision 764637.

Anyway I've found another bug: the plugin list is not automatically saved, you have to save the config on the session, but if on the plugin list you have checked the "Symbol Viewer". Closing kate (after saving the session) it will crash.

same here on kde 4.0.1
actually the plugin make kate crash on session save (try session/save) so the options are not saved.

Should be fixed with with r775583 for KDE 4.1. Can you confirm, Eduardo?
Comment 6 Rafael Sotomayor 2008-03-17 15:03:07 UTC
I have the same bug, I'm using OpenSuse 10.3 and KDE 4.0.2.

Comment 7 Eduardo Robles Elvira 2008-03-17 15:13:58 UTC
I confirm Dominik, this is fixed in 4.1
