I'm using 0.8.8 and there is no clue why one cannot delete securities from the list.

One way forward would be to expand the amount of data shown in the securities list.  Ex. Can Delete? column with a Y or N. With a "N" value.  Hovering over the "N" might explain why that is.

Another way to address the issue would be to have a "hide" option shown in the security list.  That way no transactions would need to be deleted, and your investment history is pretty accurate.

From which list do you want to delete the securities? The investment view?
