I was thinking about this today when the photo plasmoid covered up some icons on the desktop. Rather than having to move the plasmoid to get to the icons I had the idea of a button "send to back" - like the buttons in graphics programs. It could go on the plasmoid frame under the spanner. I'm not sure if this is even possible - Alt+LMB is taken by KWin. <configurable key>+LMB+drag would solve any conflict. Idea is great. KWin handles Alt+LMB in some special way in this case, doesn't it? It does not start to move the whole Plasma. Couldn't it be achieved (with some KWin modifications, if need) that it KWin passes the Alt+Click to the window (Plasma) in this case? I bumped again with this report, previously I missed somehow this little detail "locked". The problem is this, I would like to configure the desktop and leave as few as possible "entry points" where you can change the desktop. This way I will feel safe for my computer (that by accident I won't change my polished settings) and I feel safe for everybody I set the computers, and those guys will be safer because they could not unconsciously break something. Thus, if this is really, really wanted I think the only solution would be configurable behaviour, so it would be possible to turn off such feature. So I get back that "idea is great" because I don't see all the benefit, with keyboard shortcuts for lock/unlock: * unlock * move * lock No extra code in KDE4 required, no additional option, and job is done (plasmoid is moved). so whats the current status? The idea of alt + click is pretty handy, because it saves you a lot of clicking. alt+drag == hidden behaviour. |
