IMHO agree 100% that checkboxes are more obvious than changing the menu text, but usability opinion is divided and the preference seems to be as currently implemented. See for example the thread at http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-usability&m=111216845819500&w=2 Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented. Thank you for your understanding.
