Version:           3.5.8 (using 3.5.8-1.fc6 Fedora, Fedora Core release 6 (Zod))
Compiler:          Target: i386-redhat-linux
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.22.2-42.fc6

when no application is running, the screen saver does not work.
when any (kde and non-kde) application is running the screen saver works.

after some system upgrades all seam to work just fine.
i have no clue what solved it.
it relates to debian 4 & kde 3.5.8 and not fedora 6 as i reported.

Bug closed. Kdesktop is no more mantained.
