Can you attach a screenshot please? I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "highlighting the right border with red", but it isn't an intended feature.

Ever since "xv" disappeared from the Linux distros, I've not known
how to do a "screenshot". I can describe the algorithm: The first
non-blank after white space and every "/" character is red, plus the
right hand margin is also reddened if it is not immediately preceded
by non-white space. That reddening extends for about half the width
of the scroll bar width. I do not think this is bash because I get the
same effect with vim (with coloring turned off). This is new behavior
with my new installation of SuSE 10.3. Thank you.
Never mind. #-( I did more testing and it _is_ a monitor failure issue. Please close and pretend I never started this. :) Thanks.
