Description mikyt 2008-01-14 22:48:33 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 4.0.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux

If I try to open a samba shared folder (smb://host/folder or smb://host/folder/) using krunner I get the error message: "smb://host/folder is a folder, it should have been a file" (or something like that: the language I'm using is not English so I had to translate the error message) and the share doesn't open.

If I enter the same address in Dolphin it's correctly opened.

i don't think this is coming from krunner but from kdelibs. will try and test with an smb share when i get time.

Works for me, using 4.0 opensuse packages.

I tried using (on the same computer where I have the problem using kubuntu packages) the KDE-4-Live live cd, that is OpenSuSE-based, but I get exactly the same error from KRunner (and here too, everything works perfectly when I enter a smb:// address in dolphin).

Now I'm also able to provide the exact English error message: "smb://host/folder/ is a folder, but a file was expected.".
Hope this helps.

just tested here with a local smb server and it works perfectly in trunk.
