I confirm this. There is no "winkeys" variant for Russian layout, which is the one used on all modern Russian keyboards (not the default one: they differ, in particular, in the location of the comma and the dot). This is very inconvenient and should probably be fixed, as it makes the keyboard_layout module pretty much useless in some cases that it is intended for. I confirm this too: after adding a custom layout variant in /usr/share/X11/xkb/it this variant is not shown in the drop list in the system setting control Ubuntu Intrepid w/ KDE4.1.3 Newer versions use the xml rule file specification file. You'll need to add the description of your variant in base.xml or evdev.xml (based on what your rules are configured to be read from) |
