Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs

...and the problem is the name is exactly the same, so the user has to put them all on toolbar, test which ones does what, and then assign icons. It would be better to list them as "template (fwd), template (re:), template (re: all)" or something similar.

Wish/bug? Couldn't decide.

In KDE 4 the templates don't even show up in those config dialogs...

Does it means that templates will not come back to toolbars? Can this bug be closed then?

What I meant is: If you define a custom template, this template does not show up in the "Configure Shortcuts" dialog or in the "Configure toolbars" dialog, as far as I can see.
Thus this bug report is no longer valid for the KDE4 version.
I'd argue that it is a bug/wish to make the templates show up in those menus.
