When installing software with aptitude, konsole does some bogus terminal rendering (below is the copy-pasted output, note that the lines with percentages should be counting up but instead there seem to be newlines?):

This may be related to lackluster performance of compositing in indirect mode, if I chose direct mode, it works just like expected. Closing for now.
