Description David Benjamin 2008-01-12 19:29:11 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 4.0.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Really strange bug... when switching icon themes, icons don't seem to be properly registered and things don't always change. Probably a caching problem?

How to Reproduce:
1. Open System Settings.
2. Change the icon theme to Tango (yes, I know it probably doesn't supply all the icons KDE4 wants, but it also uses the icon naming spec, so I would expect at least the very basic icons work)

Expected Behavior: (Some) icons switch to Tango.

Actual Behavior: Very few icons actually end up switching (just the ones at the home page of Konqueror), but when I hover over icons, they switch to Tango versions, for example, back/forward, home, and refresh. Upon unhover, they switch back to Oxygen.

If I revert the icons back to Oxygen, the hovering effect remains, i.e. if I hover over the back icon, it switches to Tango, and icons that I didn't hover over while in Tango don't have this oddity.

If I delete the KDE cache folder, the proper icons restore themselves.

This appears fixed in trunk.
