Description Ivo Anjo 2008-01-12 17:23:37 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 4.0.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

(Using kde4.0 final packages from opensuse)

When connecting to a site via ssl, there's visually no way to see that you're using a secure connection (the only hint is the url starting with https://).

Also, I seem to recall an icon from kde4 RC2 or something, that when clicked the site credentials would pop up, and there's nothing like that anymore (at least that I can find).

Yih. There used to be a lock icon... It's baaaddd that it's not there any more. Probably happened when SSL code changed.. For the other half, see
154060... but that one is not just missing button, but the fact that the ui for viewing certificates itself seems semi-busted :(

Also an error to connect to a secure page ( https )

There was an error loading https://www.uno-e.com/UNOEPUB/tlwu2_index.html:
Unable to connect to the machine www.uno-e.com: SSL negotiation failed .
Comment 3 Ivo Anjo 2008-01-14 18:55:37 UTC
Can't confirm error from comment #2: works ok here (opensuse packages).

Btw Antonio, if you're using kde4daily, I think ssl is broken there, even https://bugs.kde.org doesn't work.

I can confirm this. It's really hard to see if a site is encrypted or not.

Comment 5 BrĂ¡ulio Barros de Oliveira 2008-02-09 16:12:08 UTC
also when connecting to https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=162909
Comment 6 Antonio C. 2008-02-11 20:57:20 UTC
OpenSuse has registered a bug (Novell)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=353533

I do not know if it is a bug of Novell or KDE

We can reasonably mark this report as a dup of bug #154060
