Description Grósz Dániel 2008-01-05 15:53:40 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: Linux

I propose an option for Systemsettings that if the user selects a module which is larger than the current view, resize the window to the size of the module (as in the configuration dialogs of the KDE applications), or to the size of the screen if the module is (unfortunately) bigger than the screen.

actually a scrollbar is added, what do you think?
Comment 2 Grósz Dániel 2008-11-15 11:39:31 UTC
It is inconvenient to have to scroll a control module. I got the idea from application configuration dialogs which work the proposed way.
Comment 3 Maciej Pilichowski 2008-11-15 12:03:15 UTC
I am against this wish:
a) no respect for user request -- user wants (for example) 100x200, respect this
b) it does not improve anything -- even if you resize everything you can, there is still one thing you cannot resize -- the screen. What then? You have to show the scrollbars

If the user really wishes to have bigger window, really, clicking maximize is not such great effort. If user wants this permanents it is also available.

Konqueror behaves as you wish, and it always wastes my time because it resizes automatically, and I have to resize it back every time, what's more it resizes in such crazy way, that I don't see the bottom part of it.

Smart app is good as long as it respect user.

I agree with Maciej!
Comment 5 Ben Cooksley 2009-05-01 15:57:35 UTC
I agree with Maciej also. Modules that need scrolling for minor amounts should have bug reports filed aganist them. Modules should only need to scroll downward.
