Description Ben Morris 2008-01-04 14:26:29 UTC
Version: 1.0.2 (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: GCC 4.1.2
OS: Linux

Today I found that I could no longer open encrypted baskets.

The first odd thing I noticed was that pinentry-gtk was being used (in Basket with KDE running).

Pinentry-gtk would simply pop up again every time I pressed OK. When I pressed cancel, I got a (KDE, not GTK) dialogue which said "GPGME: Bad passphrase". Pressing OK in that dialogue took me straight back to Pinentry.

I eventually fixed this by killing Basket and removing pinentry-gtk.

However, I have a related problem with pinentry-qt: I am required to enter my password many times to open a basket.

On every basket I have so far tried, the number of times the password needs to be typed correctly is the number of notes in that basket + 1. That is eleven times for the basket I use most.

It still gives me an error if I mistype it, so I know I'm not just typing it wrong the first ten times.

It is now asking me for my passphrase repeatedly when I try to edit a note in a basket which is already open. I gave up and killed it before finding out how many times it would require it.

I can no longer duplicate this behavior. Could you test against latest gitorious version and see if it works for both of you?

Assuming fixed, since I can no longer duplicate and he is not responding. If this behavior reappears, we can reopen.
